Jakarta (VNA) - Registration for media agencies thatseek to cover the 42nd ASEASN Summit, slated to take place inmid-May in Indonesia, will open on April 1, 2023.

According to Indonesian Communication and InformaticsMinistry’s Public Information and Communication Director General Usman Kansong,information concerning the first ASEAN summit under theIndonesian chair this year will be delivered in detail to reporters through a media advisory unit.

The ASEAN Summit will be held in Labuan Bajo, EastNusa Tenggara, on May 9-11, 2023. The ministry estimated that 300-500 reporters from 10 ASEAN member countries will cover the summit.

During last week’s press conference, Kansong said thatthe government will prepare the formation of a special agency to help the mediareceive a complete press statement concerning the 2023 ASEAN activities held inIndonesia.

To provide public communication access, Kansong saidthe ministry will provide a special website that contains IndonesianChairmanship activities in 2023 at ASEAN2023.id.

The website managed by the Informatics andCommunication Directorate General will provide content in the form of newsarticles, photos, infographics to videos related to 2023 ASEAN./.
