Hanoi (VNA) - The Asia – Pacific forum for young Francophones concluded in Hanoi on September 13.
The three-day event was organised by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCMYU)’s Central Committee in collaboration with the National Committee on Youth of Vietnam, and the Asia – Pacific Regional Office of the International Organisation of La Francophonie.
Some 80 participants from Vietnam and countries across the globe attended the forum to discuss and share their experience, as well as propose initiatives to handle urgent issues towards building a sustainable community of young Francophones.
Discussions and activities on the sidelines of the forum offered the participants the opportunities to acquire knowledge in the areas of environment, sustainable development, startup and innovation, digital technology and IT, helping them create more practical values for their community.
Secretary of the HCMYU’s Central Committee, and Chairman of the Vietnam Students’ Association Nguyen Minh Triet said one of the notable successes of the forum was the connection among the youths from different countries, expressing his belief that partnerships set up within the framework of the forum will contribute to the development of the Francophone community.

A Vietnamese delegation took part in a francophone cultural festival held by the Maison de la Francophonie association in France’s Bussy-Saint-Georges on March 31, impressing attendants by a large number of performances.
The Vietnamese Cultural Centre in France represented Vietnam at the Week-end de la Francophonie (Francophonie Weekend) on March 23-24, which was held in celebration of the Fifth International Francophonie Day 2024 (March 20) in Yèble (Seine et Marne province), 60km from Paris.
Vietnam will continue contributing to realising the three key objectives of the Strategic Framework on Francophone Community Cooperation for the 2023-2030 period, said Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
