Asia-Pacific Maritime exhibition opens in Singapore

The Asia-Pacific Maritime (APM) exhibition, which is hailed as one of the region’s premier nautical events, kicked off in Singapore on March 19, showcasing the world’s latest technologies in shipbuilding and marine engineering.

The biennial exhibition has drawn over1,500 exhibitors across 60 countries and territories who are displayingtheir new cutting-edge products, capable of improving operationalefficiency and cutting costs.

A record 15,000 visitors are expected to join the three-day event, which drew about 13,000 participants in 2012.

2014 is forecast to be a good year for the global marine industry tofurther develop. Asia, especially Southeast Asian countries, will have akey role to play in fuelling such growth, experts said.

Anumber of forums will be held on the fringes of the event, supplyingadditional information about the sector’s development trends and otherissues related to new and green technology.-VNA
