Ba Ria-Vung Tau resolves 100% of "three no's" fishing boats to address IUU yellow card
Authorities in the southeastern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau have successfully addressed all cases of "three no's" fishing boats – those lacking registration, inspection certificates, and licences, while approving the registration of 1,076 vessels so far.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau (VNA) –꧅ Authorities in the southeastern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau have successfully addressed all cases of "three no's" fishing boats – those lacking registration, inspection certificates, and licences, while approving the registration of 1,076 vessels so far.
The provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said it has surveyed, deregistered, and supported the completion of paperwork for 259 boats that did not meet operational standards. Currently, 415 offshore fishing vessels in the province remain unqualified for operation.
Since the beginning of the year, no local fishing vessels have been reported disconnected for more than 10 days, a notable improvement.
Additionally, efforts to ensure traceability of harvested seafood have also been tightened at fishing ports and enterprises. Since July last year, port authorities have guided vessel owners in using the national electronic reporting system for submitting required information.
In cases of illegal activities such as unauthorised fishing in foreign waters, tampering with or removing vessel monitoring systems (VMS), and falsifying raw material declarations, the province has prosecuted five cases involving nine individuals.
For administrative violations such as failing to transfer ownership during boat sales or captains operating without valid qualifications, the department’s inspection unit has issued fines in six cases, totaling 39 million VND (1,536 USD)./.
The Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre will continue to strongly implement key tasks in combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing activities, especially completing the registration of ‘three no’s’ fishing vessels, according to the provincial People’s Committee.
Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of the north – central province of Thanh Hoa Le Duc Giang demanded that by December 19, coastal localities must thoroughly resolve “three-no's” fishing vessels (no registrations, no checks, no licences), in a bid to fight illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
The central coastal province of Quang Nam is striving to have no "three no’s" fishing vessels that lack proper registration, fishing licenses, or inspection certifications by the end of November, according to Director of the provincial Fisheries Sub-department Vo Van Long.
