Bac Giang (VNA)🏅 – Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province Mai Son said the province will focus on accelerating the development of e-administration and digital administration to improve operational efficiency and better serve the people and businesses.

Accordingly, Bac Giang will maintain and develop a digital transformation data centre, improve the quality of WAN infrastructure and dedicated data transmission networks through outsourcing services from telecommunications companies, while also investing in equipment to enhance the efficiency of online meeting systems at all levels. The People's Committees of districts, townships, and Bac Giang city will give attention to investing in information technology equipment to ensure that 100% of surveillance cameras at one-stop service units are connected to the provincial public administrative service centre. They will also expand the transmission network to support security and traffic surveillance camera systems in line with Project 257. In 2025, Bac Giang will continue to maintain and develop the local government service platform (LGSP). At the same time, sectors will operate specialised platforms effectively, such as those for healthcare, online education, digital television, and radio broadcasting. Notably, Bac Giang will pay heed to building a unified digital communication platform between the administration, citizens, and businesses, creating diverse and convenient interaction channels through mobile applications, electronic portals, hotlines, and social media. Son stated that the departments and sectors of Bac Giang will continue to receive, inherit, and use existing databases on population, land, business registration, justice, finance, and insurance that have been invested in and developed previously. Priority will be given to building databases in key areas such as education and training, health care, insurance, social welfare, finance, agriculture, tourism, labour and employment, transport, construction, and information and communications. The local authorities plan to stablise the operation of the field reporting information system and the socio-economic information aggregation system, and ensure information security. It will also effectively utilise the intelligent operation centre (IOC), develop the provincial electronic portal, the public service email system, digital maps serving management tasks, software for managing civil servants and public employees, and specialised software in party and state agencies. In addition, the province will develop a digital data repository, a geographic information system (GIS), and an open data portal as a channel for sharing data resources, making it easier for citizens and businesses to search for, use, and update data and information. This year, Bac Giang city and Viet Yen township will develop the infrastructure for the IOC and the Internet of Things (IoT), prioritising the development of services to address urgent social issues such as health care, education, natural resources and the environment, transport, security surveillance, and construction management. The goal is to ensure efficiency and integrate smart city services with digital administration services. In recent times, Bac Giang has achieved impressive results in digital transformation. Specifically, its digital transformation index (DTI) has made remarkable progress, maintaining the 10th position out of 63 provinces and cities in 2020 and 2021 and climbing to the 9th position in 2022. In 2024, the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and the Public Administrative Reform (PAR) Index ranked 4th in the country, while the E-Government Development Index leaded the country. So far, 100% of villages, hamlets and residential groups in Bac Giang have fiber optic internet infrastructure, and the entire province has access to mobile information./.
