Belarusian President hosts welcome ceremony for Vietnamese Party chief in Minsk
The state visit to Belarus by Party General Secretary To Lam, his spouse, and the high-level Vietnamese delegation marks a new impetus for strengthening and expanding bilateral ties. Minsk (VNA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko hosted a welcome ceremony for General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam, his spouse, and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at the Independence Palace in Minsk on May 12 morning (local time).
Following the ceremony, the two leaders held talks, witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements, and addressed the press to announce the outcomes of their discussions.

Over the past 30 years since the establishment of their diplomatic relations on January 24, 1992, Vietnam and Belarus have steadily nurtured and developed their traditional friendship and strong cooperation. This relationship has been built on mutual trust, equality, and respect, serving the interests of both nations and laying a solid foundation for increasingly close and active engagement across all areas.

On the morning of May 12 (local time), Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko hosted an official welcoming ceremony for Party General Secretary To Lam on his State visit to the Republic of Belarus.
Vietnam consistently attaches importance to its traditional friendship with Belarus and wishes to further strengthen cooperation across all fields for the mutual benefit of the two nations, and for peace, cooperation, and development in the region and around the world.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, Vietnam and Belarus have maintained and developed the traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with increasingly high political trust.
The coming state visit to Belarus by Party General Secretary To Lam is expected to create new impetus to consolidate and strengthen the bilateral relations, and open up opportunities for businesses of the two countries in trade and investment cooperation.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State place great importance on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia in a substantive and effective manner, in line with the development needs of both nations.
At the conference, participants reported that the Government has so far issued 28 decrees on the delegation of responsibilities and powers between the central Government and two-tier local administrations. Several localities have already piloted the new governance model.
