Best works in external information service to be honoured on June 14
The National External Information Service awards ceremony 2017, the fourth of its edition, will take place at the headquarters of Vietnam News Agency in Hanoi on June 14.

Hanoi (VNA) – The National External Information Service awards ceremony 2017, the fourth of its edition, will take place at the headquarters of Vietnam News Agency in Hanoi on June 14.
The organising board has received a total of 970 entries in the categories of print newspaper, electronic newspaper, radio broadcast, television broadcast, press photo and book written in 15 languages from 115 press outlets, publishing houses, units and localities nationwide as well as authors from Russia, China, Spain, Cuba, Bulgaria, Slovakia, India and France.
A total of 105 entries were selected for the final round, and the best 67 will be chosen for 7 first prizes, 15 second prizes, 18 third prizes and 27 consolation prizes.
The National External Information Service Awards 2017 was launched by the Party Central Committee’s Communication and Education Commission, the Steering Committee for External Information Service and Nhan dan newspaper.
Nhan dan newspaper is the standing agency of the 2017 awards.
First launched in 2014, the contest has drawn great attention from both domestic and foreign press organisations, publishers and reporters. The number of entries to the competition has increased through years from 515 works in 10 languages in 2014 to 893 entries in 17 languages in 2016.
✃ The award will continue to be held in 2018, open to Vietnamese or foreign individuals and groups, each of them could submit no more than 7 entries or entry series to the organising board.-VNA

The production of external information has helped promote the country’s image and culture to the world, boosting the country’s sovereignty over sea and islands as well as human rights.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.
