Binh Dinh spends over 1.6 trillion VND on disaster relief

Binh Dinh (VNA)⛄ – Thecentral province of Binh Dinh has invested more than 1.6 trillion VND (70.5million USD) mobilised from different sources in relieving damage caused by naturaldisasters in late 2016, said Ho Quoc Dung, Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee.
Accordingly, 52 million USD from the Statebudget was allocated to repair dykes and irrigation works. The Governmentprovided the province with 120 billion VND (5.3 million USD) to overcome flood consequencesand 65 billion VND (2.86 million USD) to exempt local students from school feesin the first semester of 2017, along with 3,000 tonnes of rice.
The province has poured 27.8 billionVND (1.2 million USD) into rebuilding and repairing more than 700 houses for floodvictims, as well as supported 22 fishing boats sunk and damaged by floods with1.8 billion VND.
🔯 Over 1,500 tonnes of rice were distributed to local people on the occasion ofthe Lunar New Year 2017 while several irrigation works and canals were repairedahead of the 2017 crop.
Besides, the province will continue directingbusinesses to actively implement projects, especially those on tourismdevelopment, while speeding up the repair of dykes and transport facilities hitby floods and the construction of Phu Cat airport terminal to raise theairport’s capacity.-VNA
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee received 100 million VND (4,400 USD) worth of donation from the Vietnam News Agencyto support flood victims.
A delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee visited and presented gifts to people in the flood-hit south central province of Phu Yen on January 13.
Ministries, agencies, individuals and organisations have so far donated 62 billion VND (2.69 million USD) to flood-hit victims in the central and Central Highlands regions.
