Binh Duong among world’s outstanding smart communities for three consecutive years
The southern province of Binh Duong has made itself onto the list of 21 localities worldwide having outstanding smart city development strategies (Smart21) this year, which was unveiled on February 25 by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF).

Hanoi (VNA) –🐬 The southern province of Binh Duonghas made itself onto the list of 21 localities worldwide having outstandingsmart city development strategies (Smart21) this year, which was unveiled onFebruary 25 by the Intelligent Community Forum(ICF).
It is the third year in a row that the provincehas received the recognition. Binh Duong is also the first Vietnamese localityto be named in the Smart21. Gaining a place among the year's Smart21 is considered a badgeof honour as well as the first step toward greater recognition as anIntelligent Community positioned to prosper in the broadband economy, the ICFnoted.

Of the 2021 list, localities from nine countries were honoured,including those in the US, Russia, Australia, Canada, Brazil, the UK, NewZealand, and Vietnam. Thereare currently 180 members from different countries, territories, cities andregions participating in the ICF./.
The southern province of Binh Duong has carried out a lot of mechanisms and policies to help enterprises operating in the supporting industries solve difficulties and grow further.
A workshop on promoting investment from the Republic of Korea (RoK) in the southern province of Binh Duong was held in the form of an online conference on November 20.
The southern province of Binh Duong will spend around 9 trillion VND (388 million) on key transport projects this year to boost socio-economic development, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Hoang Thao has said.

Over the past three decades, Binh Duong has cemented its status as one of Vietnam’s most dynamic industrial hubs, building a robust foundation in manufacturing, exports, and investment. The province now has 30 operational industrial parks spanning over 13,000 hectares, with an occupancy rate exceeding 90%.
The diplomat emphasised that Vietnam places the highest priority on the development of science, technology, and innovation, viewing them as critical drivers for the country’s advancement in the new development era.
