The ministry said that about 200chickens suspected to have bird flu were discovered on November 28. Tests onthe chickens confirmed the outbreak. Cambodian authorities have launchedmeasures to prevent the spread of the virus and warned local residents not tosell and use affected poultry products. In early 2017, the ministry announcedbird flu outbreaks, which led to the culling of more than 3,300 chickens andducks in the two provinces of Kampong Thom and Svay Rieng, which borderVietnam’s localities of Long An and Tay Ninh. The ministry ordered a month ban oftrading and keeping new chickens in the two provinces to stamp out theoutbreaks.-VNA
