HCM City (VNA) – German technology firm BoschVietnam has celebrated the fifth anniversary of its automotive research anddevelopment (R&D) centre in Vietnam.
Over the years, the company has focused on developingmotorbike parts, sport electric vehicles and automobile technology solutions tomeet rising public transport demand in Vietnam.
Established in 2014and with investment standing at more than 20 million USD to date, the R&Dcentre employs more than 70 engineers specialising in developing innovative automotivetechnologies, products and solutions for both domestic and internationalmarkets.
With its goal tobecome an innovation centre of Southeast Asia, Bosch Vietnam has implementedactivities like a “hackathon” contest for technology students and startupcontest AIOT&Smart City, which was launched from 2019.
Bosch also establisheda regional two-wheeler and power sports division in Vietnam last year. Based inHo Chi Minh City, the division serves as the company’s Southeast Asian hub formotorcycle expertise. Continued investment within the country is also on thecompany’s agenda.-VNA
Bosch Group, a leading global supplier of technology and services headquartered in Germany, will send experts to evaluate and give consultancies to startup projects and join hands with the Saigon Innovation Hub (SiHub) to organise annual industrial technology startup contests.
The National Committee on Traffic Safety and the Bosch Vietnam company on September 20 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in traffic accident and vehicle safety studies and in proposing measures to improve traffic safety in Vietnam.

Nearly 100 of these firms received support to develop and improve their products, benefiting more than 300,000 customers and creating over 300 new jobs through successful fundraising and team expansion amidst Vietnam’s competitive economy.
Over the past three decades, Binh Duong has cemented its status as one of Vietnam’s most dynamic industrial hubs, building a robust foundation in manufacturing, exports, and investment. The average speed of the national mobile broadband network remained stable, with download speeds reaching 76.86 Mbps and upload speeds reaching 26.98 Mbps.
Under the MoU, AMD will support several key initiatives spearheaded by HCM City’s authorities, including piloting policies, co-hosting innovation events, and evaluating the investment environment within the Saigon Hi-Tech Park.
The centre is a joint initiative between Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology, with PTIT and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) serving as co-leads, and global telecommunications giant Nokia as founding industry partner.
The new centre, staffed by a team of scientists, researchers, and AI specialists working in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, forms part of Qualcomm’s global AI research group.
As a flagship initiative of the community project “Digital Literacy for All”, the programme forms part of a national scheme to equip 20 million young people with digital business skills.
The organisers hope the competition will help shape a generation of exceptional engineers who will make significant contributions to Vietnam’s scientific and technological progress in this era of transformation.
