British composer to share know-how with VN peers

HCM City (VNA) - British Emmy Award-winning composer and pianist Michael Pricewill travel to HCM City and share his experiences as part of a project launchedby several city organisations.  

Price isone of the project’s lecturers who will work with dozens of young Vietnamesemusicians and film directors from local studios and art universities andcolleges.

His talks will focus on the most popularproduction and editing styles for soundtracks in the UK and Hollywood today, aswell as the newest composing methods and connections between composers and filmdirectors.    

Price’s two-day trip, beginning on May 8, willalso include work and exchanges with Vietnamese composers, music producers,filmmakers and film companies.

Price and composer David Arnold won an Emmy in 2014 for their music for the BBCTV series Sherlock. 

Price worked as a music editor for Hollywood filmssuch as Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings, BeebanKidron’s Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and Nanny McPhee, andRichard Curtis’s Love, Actually.

In 2013,Price was nominated for two prizes, Best European Composer and Best NewComposer, at the BSO Spirit Goldspirit Awards presented by BSO Spirit, apopular Spanish website about films.

In HCM City, he will work with 15 young talentsselected by the project’s organisers, British Council and Salon Saigon, alounge and place for young artists in films, theatre and the arts.
