Phnom Penh (VNA) ✃– Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has announced that the country will suspend all imports of fuel and gas from Thailand starting at midnight on June 22, according to Cambodia’s national press agency AKP.

In his post on social media the same day, Hun Manet said energy companies would be able to import sufficiently from other sources to meet domestic fuel and gas demands in the country.
Earlier on June 17, Cambodia officially halted the import of vegetables and fruits from Thailand at border checkpoints. Senate President Hun Sen also urged the Cambodian Government to seriously consider diversifying its import sources away from Thailand. If border issues remain unresolved, he recommended suspending the import of all canned goods from Thailand, including alcoholic beverages, energy drinks, canned fish, and meat, and replacing them with domestically produced products or imports from alternative countries./.
