Local media cited a press release by theKhmer Writers’ Association as saying that the annual event will takeplace in March 2013 in the province of Siem Reap, some 315kilometres northwest of Phnom Penh.

On this occasion, the Mekong River Literature Prize will be awarded to outstanding writers and poets.

Five best Cambodian writers who win a poetry and short storycompetition launched by the Khmer Writers’ Association under the theme“Sustainability of the Mekong River and Lives” will represent thecountry for the Mekong River Literature Prize.-VNA
