Addressing the event, Commander of the HCM City High Command and HUFO President LieutenantGeneral Nguyen Van Nam congratulated Cambodia on its great achievements in all fields and its increasing position and prestige in the international arena.
He highlighted the close relations and traditionalfriendship between the two countries, saying that leaders and people of thetwo countries are striving to further strengthen the bilateral relationship forthe sake of their people and actively contributing to peace, stability,cooperation and development in the region.
HCM City’s people always attach importance toand make contributions to the traditional friendship and comprehensivecooperation between the governments and people of the two nations, Nam said.
Cambodian Consul General in HCM City Chan Sorykan thanked VUFO for organising the meaningful event, saying that Cambodia gained its independence from the French colonists 70 years ago, marking thebeginning of its development.
He recalled themilestone of victory on January 7, 1979, when the Kampuchean UnitedFront for National Salvation in collaboration with volunteers from the Vietnamese People’s Army liberated the Cambodian people from the Pol Pot genocidal regime.
The diplomat took this occasion to express his gratitude to agencies, organisations andindividuals in HCM City for their close collaboration with the Cambodian Consulate General,believing that the Cambodia - Vietnam friendship will continue to grow strongerin the future./.
Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet and Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Soeung Rathchavy co-chaired the 8th political consultation between the two foreign ministries in the Cambodian city of Preah Sihanouk on October 26.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
