Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau will pay an officialvisit to Vietnam on November 8 and 9.
Thevisit is made at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
TheCanadian PM will attend the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, which is scheduled forNovember 6 – 11 in the central city of Da Nang.
Vietnamand Canada established diplomatic relations in 1973. Two-way trade reachednearly 5 billion USD in 2016. Vietnam currently leads ASEAN in terms of tradeturnover with Canada.-VNA
Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc led a delegation to Canada from July 6-7 and conducted the first deputy foreign minister –level political consultation between the two nations.
Canada has pledged to continue supporting Vietnam to increase capacity to cope with non-traditional security challenges, including climate change and environmental issues
A Vietnam Business Forum was organised in Toronto city of Canada on October 26 as an effort to call for Canadian investment and foster cooperation between the two countries’ enterprises.

In particular, in April 2023, the two sides successfully carried out a joint operation that dismantled a major organised, transnational drug trafficking ring involving both Vietnamese and Cambodian suspects.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel is closely coordinating with relevant local agencies to stay informed and provide the utmost support possible for Vietnamese nationals.
