Da Nang (VNA) – With Storm Molave set tomake landfall in the central region in the next few hours, localities aretaking measures to protect life and assets.
Chairman of the People’s Committee of Truong Sa district in Khanh Hoa provinceLe Dinh Hai said 61 boats have anchored at safe habour in Truong Sa archipelago,while the military medical force stands ready to provide help for fishermen.
The district has a reserve stock of food, water and medicine for a few days, headded.
In the meantime, Da Nang city ordered its citizens not to go out from 8 pm on October27 until the municipal steering board for natural disasters prevention andcontrol issues new statement.
Local officials and workers are allowed to stay at home on October 28, andother residents asked to leave areas susceptible to landslides. Strictpunishment will be meted out for anyone who fails to follow the order.
The People’s Committee of Phu Yen province has banned sailing in Tuy An, DongHoa, Song Cau, and Tuy Hoa from 9am on October 27.

Quang Tri province, which has been battered by historic floods this month,plans to evacuate 17,840 residents to safety. The evacuation will be completedbefore 6 pm on October 27.
The province is forecast to experience torrential downpours during October28-31, with total precipitation of up to 500 mm.
In response to the ninth storm, Thua Thien-Hue province has rushed tostrengthen dykes, instruct boats and fishing vessels to safe habour, as well ashelp local people to solidify their houses./.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has ordered the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and relevant ministries, agencies, and localities to keep a close watch on and outline preventive measures against storm Molave, which entered the East Sea on October 26.
