Hanoi (VNA) - A charity auction programme to raise funds and donate medical supplies to frontline medical workers and hospitals in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic will be organised on August 28 evening by the organisers of the Vietnam International Fashion Week (VNIFW).
The event will take place on OnMeeting platform and will be livestreamed on the Fanpage of the VNIFW.
It aims to call on those working in the fashion industry to join hands in the fight against COVID-19.
Chairwoman of the Vietnam International Fashion Week Trang Le said the auction is expected to partially contribute to COVID-19 prevention and control efforts of the country, especially in the southern region.
The programme will see the participation of famous people such as Francesca Baronio - wife of the EU Ambassador to Vietnam, businesswoman and actress Truong Ngoc Anh, businesswoman and fashionista Tien Nguyen, artist Minh Trang, singer Tung Duong, singer Doan Trang, and designers Nguyen Cong Tri, Adrian Anh Tuan, and Thuy Nguyen, among others./.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Russia on June 7 launched a programme to raise funds for Vietnam's national COVID-19 vaccine fund in response to the call of the President, the Prime Minister, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

An online music gala named “Cam on nhung dieu phi thuong” (Thank you for extraordinary things) will take place on August 15 to raise funds in support of the front line of the fight against COVID-19.
Episode 3 of a music performance programme themed “Sing for life, Sing for love” will be broadcast on virtual platforms at 8:10 pm on August 26 with the participation of artists from northern and southern locations, to raise funds for people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRC), this year’s campaign provided long-term aid for 3,785 individuals and organisations. Support included houses, clean water systems, school meal facilities, books, and livelihood assistance, with a total value of more than 118 billion VND.
