Chiang Mai chosen to host ASOSAI meeting

Chiang Mai Province will host the 50th Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions' (ASOSAI) Governing Board Meeting and an international seminar on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Office of the Auditor General.

The Auditor General PisitLeelavachiropas on July 23 discussed with the Vice Governor of ChiangMai Nawin Sinthusa-ard and head of the related agencies the preparationsto host the 50th ASOSAI Governing Board Meeting and the internationalseminar on the occasion of the Office of the Auditor General’s (OAG)100th anniversary in Chiang Mai.
The meeting and seminar willtake place during February 11-19, 2016 with participants from ASOSAI’s42 Asian member countries. The event aims to strengthen cooperation ofthe OAG with domestic and international agencies. The OAG's staff willbe promoted to enter an exchange programme to learn on organizationalmoralities, that will enhance officials' readiness to operate on theinternational stage. The Auditor General has said that ChiangMai Province has been selected to host ASOSAI Governing Board Meeting,due to its beautiful natural scenery and traditions, values that areconsidered a great accommodate to this meeting.
