Hanoi (VNA)– Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi has affirmed that Chinaand the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will expand cooperationin various fields and forge a closer community with a shared future.

China’s Xinhua NewsAgency reported that the Chinese FM made the remarks while holding talks withSecretary-General of ASEAN Lim Jock Hoi in Beijing on June 12.

China and ASEAN willwork together to promote the formulation of the China-ASEAN StrategicPartnership Vision 2030, hold the 2018 ASEAN-China Year of Innovation, andsynergize the Belt and Road Initiative with the Master Plan for ASEANConnectivity 2025, Wang said.

Lim said the ASEANSecretariat is willing to play a constructive role in deepening political,economic, trade and cultural cooperation with China.-VNA
