Hanoi (VNA)♛ – A regular road cargo service between China’s Chongqing city andBangkok, the capital of Thailand, will start operation in July, Xinhua newsagency reported, citing sources from local authorities.

According to Chongqingtransportation authorities, the locality has planned three routes to ASEANcountries. The eastern route to Hanoi of Vietnam is already in operation. In July, a2,800-kilometre long central route will connect Chongqing and Bangkok throughVientiane, Laos. He Zonghai, head ofChongqing’s transportation group said the third one, a western route fromChongqing to Yangon, Myanmar, will open later this year or in early 2018. The cargo routeswill help increase the volume of fruits, cereals, timber and other agriculturalproducts from Southeast Asia to Chongqing, he added.-VNA
