China, Thailand vow to boost bilateral ties

During the meeting, PM Yingluck voiced her pleasure at the developmentof Thailand-China relations. She said China has attached greatimportance to China-ASEAN relations, and this has boosted the region'sconfidence in promoting growth and maintaining stability.

Asthe coordinator of ASEAN-China relations, Thailand is willing tojoin hands with China to push for steady development of relationsbetween the two sides, the Thai PM was quoted as saying.

Forhis part, Wang said China and Thailand should maintainhigh-level exchanges, and further strengthen cooperation in areas suchas construction of railway and water conservancy infrastructure, tradeof agricultural products and development of new energy.

TheMinister spoke highly of the work Thailand has done to advanceChina-ASEAN relations. He said China stands ready to work withThailand and other ASEAN countries to continuously deepen theChina-ASEAN strategic partnership, and to create favorable conditionsfor a series of important events between the two sides later this year.

Earlier on August 2, Wang met with Thai Deputy Prime Ministerand Foreign Minister Suraporn Tovichakchaikul. The two sides exchangedopinions and reached consensus on the deepening of bilateralcooperation.-VNA
