Beijing(VNA) - Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has suggested closer alignment of China'sBelt and Road Initiative with Indonesia's development strategy.

During his meeting inBeijing on February 9 with Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Li calledon both sides to promote cooperation in key areas such as infrastructure toachieve more results.

As major developingcountries, China and Indonesia share broad common interests in safeguardingregional peace and promoting common development, said Li.

China attaches greatimportance to developing relations with Indonesia and is ready to enhancehigh-level exchanges between the two sides, he said.

China is willing totake the opportunity of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN-Chinastrategic partnership to promote ASEAN-China relations to a new level, said Li.

Retno voicedsatisfaction over the outcomes of the development of Indonesia-China relations.

She said Indonesiahopes to strengthen high-level exchanges with China, expand economic and tradecooperation, and deepen people-to-people exchanges.

Indonesia will workwith China to advance the construction of the high-speed rail link connectingits capital Jakarta with Bandung, said Retno.

She also welcomedChina to participate in the construction of Indonesia's three economiccorridors in North Sulawesi, North Sumatra and North Kalimantan, the provincesclosest to the Maritime Silk Road.-VNA
