Hanoi (VNA)🐻 – China wishes to strengthen cooperation on trade with Myanmar, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hong Lei said on April 5.

Hong Lei made the remark in the context of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s official visit to Myanmar on April 5 and 6 at the invitation of his counterpart Aung San Suu Kyi.
After a meeting with Wang Yi on April 5, Suu Kyi called the visit a symbol of friendship between the two countries. Speaking at a press conference, Suu Kyi said that the social and economic ties between Myanmar and China play a vital role, as the two countries are neighbours.
She said the Myanmar government follows a policy of friendly cooperation with the entire world. She expressed her hope that neighbouring countries will join hands with Myanmar to achieve peace and promote human development. China is Myanmar’s largest investor and trade partner.-VNA
