Its aim is to entertain and educate youngstersto mark International Children’s Day on June 1.

The performance, called An Adventure ofTeu, has been organised by the Vietnam Circus Federation.

It will run from May 25 to June 2 and hopes toraise awareness of environmental issues for future generations.

The show features characters from popularVietnamese fairy tales like Hang Nga and Cuoi about people who live on the moonand are suffering from air pollution caused by those who live on earth.

But there are still problems for those who liveunderwater, as the ocean is full of rubbish and plastic bags. The forest isn’tmuch better either, as trees have been cut down leaving animals desperate forhelp.

People’s Artist Ta Duy Anh, director of thefederation, said pollution is a global issue that directly influences on ourlives.

“The plot has a clear message that makes theshow suitable for both children and adults,” said Anh.

Anh revealed that the show received investmentin light and sound technology.

“Beside devices to release fake smoke andbubbles, we will use a 1,000 inch LED screen to help the audience understandthe story in a clear and emotional way,” he said.

The performance includes acrobatics, trapezeacts, a magic show with 60 artists and magicians, many who have performedaround the world.

Anh said the federation has stopped using wildanimals and has sent many of former animal performers like bears and tigers toanimal protection charities.

“Animal trainers now begin teaching domesticanimals like pigs, cats, parrots and even buffaloes,” he said.

“It’s our great efforts to maintain the job foranimal trainers and bring interesting circus acts for audiences without usingwild animals,” he said.

The shows will be held at the Central CircusTheatre, 67-69 Tran Nhan Tong Street, Hanoi.-VNS/VNA
