At the working session (Source: Vietnamese embassy) Hanoi (VNA) – A delegation of the Civil AviationAuthority of Vietnam (CAAV) led by deputy head Pham Van Hao held a workingsession with the Vietnamese Embassy in the Netherlands on March 5.
Hao said the visit was part of the framework of the memorandumof understanding on cooperation between Vietnam and the Netherlands, signed inOctober 2016.
Over the past three years, bilateral aviation cooperationhas improved Vietnam’s capacity for designing, operating and managinginfrastructure; as well as for aviation safety and security; and aircraftrepair and maintenance.
Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands Ngo Thi Hoa laudedthe host nation as a trustworthy and prestigious partner which is always readyto transfer technology to Vietnam.
She suggested that the CAAV consider opening direct flightsbetween the two countries, considering rising travel and transport demand oftheir business people and citizens.
Hao said in the near future, the CAAV will focus on the TanSon Nhat airport upgrade and expansion, the Long Thanh airport construction,and the master plan for Noi Bai international airport.
He hoped that Dutch firms would continue working withVietnam to launch the above projects.
The official asked the embassy to serve as a bridge to stepup aviation linkage by urging the Netherlands to expand the cooperationprogramme and send experts to Vietnam to assist the country in personneltraining.
As part of the trip from March 4-8, the delegation will holdworking sessions with the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and WaterManagement, Schiphol airport, NACO Airport Consultancy and Engineering Company,and the Aviation Academy under the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. –VNA
