Tokyo (VNA) ꦚ- The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) successfully led the country to victory in two resistance wars and will continue to succeed in the mission of turning it into a developed economy, according to Prof. Dr. Furuta Motoo, Rector of the Vietnam-Japan University.

In an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA)'s resident reporters in Tokyo on the occasion of the CPV’s 95th founding anniversary (February 3, 1930 - 2025), Motoo emphasised that the greatest significance of its establishment was that it opened up new prospects for the Vietnamese national liberation movement, putting an end to the crisis in terms of ideological direction. Regarding the role of the CPV in leading the country during the resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, as well as the key factors that helped it maintain its leadership in the revolution, the Professor pointed out that the most important factor for the Party's success has been its steadfast adherence to the principle of placing the people at the centre.
According to the scholar, the CPV has always learned from its experiences, proposed policies at each stage to meet the needs of the people, and actively listened to and incorporated the opinions of the public. Motoo also highlighted the fight against corruption and the policy of streamlining the organisational apparatus, which are considered highly significant for the Party's leadership and the country's development, as Vietnam is currently aiming to become a high-income developed nation by 2045, which marks the 100th founding anniversary of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
To achieve this goal, it is essential for the state apparatus to be clean and effective, he stated, adding that the anti-corruption campaign launched by late Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong aims to create such a state apparatus, and this is also the reason why his successor, To Lam, is implementing a large-scale reform of the state apparatus. Such reforms are necessary for Vietnam to achieve the goal of becoming a high-income developed country, Motoo emphasised./.
