Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign MinisterPham Binh Minh on December 1 sent a message of condolences to Thai ForeignMinister Don Pramudwinai over the death of Surin Pitsuwan, former ASEAN SecretaryGeneral and former Foreign Minister of Thailand.

Surin, who was Secretary General of the Association of Southeast AsianNations (ASEAN) from 2008-2013, died of a heart attack at a Bangkok hospital onNovember 30 at the age of 68.
