Congratulations extended to Lee Hsien Loong over PAP’s election victory
Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong has sent a message of congratulations to Lee Hsien Loong, Secretary-General of the People's Action Party (PAP) and Prime Minister of Singapore, over the victory of the PAP in the 13th general election in Singapore.

Hanoi (VNA) – Party Gene𒁏ral Secretary and President Nguyen PhuTrong has sent a message of congratulations to Lee Hsien Loong, Secretary-General of the People'sAction Party (PAP) and Prime Minister of Singapore, over the victory of the PAP in the 13th general election in Singapore.
Led by PM Lee Hsien Loong, the ruling People's Action Party (PAP) won the general election on July 10 with a majority, gaining 83 out of 93 seats in the parliament.
According to the Elections Department Singapore, the election saw a voter turnout of 95.63 percent, or𝔍 more than 2.5 million voters. It was higher than the figure of 93.56 percent recorded in 2015./.
The Elections Department (ELD) of Singapore has announced a two-hour extension of voting time on July 10 to allow voters more time to head to the ballot box, after long lines were seen outside a number of polling stations.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on July 11 cabled a message of congratulations to his Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong on the country’s successful organisation of the 2020 General Election.

The UN Secretary-General praised Vietnam’s remarkable achievements in socio-economic development and international integration in recent years, noting that the country has emerged as a model in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting international peace and security, and engaging in key UN processes.
Nghia affirmed that this is a milestone of special significance, affirming and honouring the the Vietnamese revolutionary press’s glorious tradition of 100 years of serving the revolutionary cause of the Party, serving the Fatherland, and serving the people.
