Congratulations offered to ethnic Khmers on New Year festival

He visitedthe provincial Patriotic Clergy Solidarity Association, the Pai–Khmervocational college, Khmer pagodas and families of Khmer veteranrevolutionaries.
In 2014, Tra Vinh spent over 135billion VND (6.2 million USD) from the State and provincial budget onupgrading infrastructure, providing housing for the poor and generatingjobs for local Khmers.
The same day, anotherdelegation from the committee presented gifts to pagoda leaders,impoverished households and social welfare beneficiaries.
On the occasion, the southern province of Soc Trang convened a gathering of key Khmer officials.
The number of Khmer Party members currently reaches nearly 5,000, or over 15 percent of the total in the locality.-VNA
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
