Course for overseas Vietnamese teachers opens

Fourteen overseas Vietnamese teachers will have a chance to improve their skills of teaching Vietnamese language when attending a course opened in Hanoi on September 26.
Fourteen overseas Vietnamese teachers will have a chance to improvetheir skills of teaching Vietnamese language when attending a courseopened in Hanoi on September 26.

The course, the first ofits kind, is coorganised by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnameseunder the Foreign Ministry, and the Ministry of Education and Training.

The teachers are working in such countries and territoriesas Czech, Germany, Laos, Thailand and Taiwan which see a high demand oflearning Vietnamese language.

Addressing the openingceremony, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Son, Deputy Foreign Minister and head of theCommittee, said the demand has become increasingly essential among over 4million overseas Vietnamese people who are living and working in morethan 100 countries and territories across the world.
 
Duringthe course, the teachers will share professional skills, attendVietnamese language lessons at several schools in Vietnam and make fieldtrips to Vietnamese language research facilities.

They arescheduled to take part in a seminar on the role of the press inimproving the efficiency of teaching and learning Vietnamese languageamong overseas Vietnamese community on October 22.

They willhave a chance to learn more about their homeland’s history, culture,land and people as well as the country’s renewal process through aseries of extracurricular activities.-VNA
