CPP endorses Hun Manet as future PM candidate

The ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) on December 24 held the 43rd meeting of its Central Committee, during which members of the committee endorsed Dr. Hun Manet, a member of the CPP Permanent Committee, to run for the Prime Minister position in the future.
Phnom Penh (VNA) – The ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) on December 24 held the 43rd meeting of its Central Committee, during which members of the committee endorsed Dr. Hun Manet, a member of the CPP Permanent Committee, to run for the Prime Minister position in the future.

According to CPP Spokesperson Sous Yara, Hun Manet received 775 yes votes out of total 865 votes.

Hun Manet, the oldest son of Prime Minister Hun Sen, was born in 1977. He graduated West Point Military Academy, and holds a MA degree in economics of New York University and a PhD degree in economics of Bristol University.

He has rich experience in Party and military activities.

During the meeting, members of the committee also elected Tea Banh and Men Sam An as Vice Presidents of the CPP, raising the number of Vice Presidents of the Hun Sen-led party to four./.
