
Mexico City (VNA) – A senior official of theCommunist Party of Vietnam (CPV) has reiterated the CPV’s support for theleft-wing movement which fights for peace, prosperity and equality in theworld.
Nguyen Huy Tang, Vice Chairman of the CPVCentral Committee’s Commission for External Relations, made the remark at the21st annual seminar on parties and a new society held by Mexico’s Labour Party(PT) in Mexico City from March 22-25.
The event attracted more than 800 delegates,about 300 of whom represented 150 parties and political organisations from 40countries.
In his speech, the official briefed about theimplementation of the Resolution of the CPV’s 12th National Congress whileunderlining the resolve to build an incorruptible and strong CPV, bring intoplay the strength of the whole country, promote reforms and nationalprotection, and keep a peaceful and stable environment, thereby turning Vietnamin to a modern, industrialised nation in the near future.
He emphasised Vietnam’s foreign policy ofpressing ahead with integration into the world and joining hands with peoplearound the globe to build a world of peace, stability, cooperation and shareddevelopment.
At the workshop, PT National Coordinator AlbertoAnaya Gutierrez congratulated Vietnam on socio-economic achievements under theCPV’s leadership, highlighting the growing stature of the country in theinternational arena.
On the sidelines of the seminar, the Vietnamesedelegation had bilateral meetings with representatives of global parties andmovements, including the Communist Party of Cuba, the United Socialist Party ofVenezuela, the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) of Nicaragua,the Communist Party and the Labour Party of Brazil, and the United LeftMovement (MIU) of the Dominican Republic.
Tang also met with Elsa Espinosa – acting headof the international affairs department of Mexico’s ruling InstitutionalRevolutionary Party. They agreed to enhance the two parties’ relations so as tostrengthen their countries’ multi-faceted cooperation such as in economy,politics, society and culture. They also underscored the necessity for abilateral free trade agreement to bolster trade.
The CPV official had meetings with Claudia SofiaCorichi Garcia – head of the Mexico-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group,representatives of the Citizens’ Movement of Mexico, and PT NationalCoordinator Alberto Anaya Gutierrez.
At the events, the two sides affirmed thedetermination to nurture bilateral connections in all fields. Tang thankedMexico’s support for Vietnam’s struggle for independence in the past andnational development and defence at present.- VNA
