Havana (VNA) - Cuba appreciates ASEAN's invariable support for thestruggle of the Cuban people against the blockade and reaffirms the will tocontinue strengthening relations with ASEAN in a number of areas, Cuban Minister ofForeign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez has said.

He made the statement during his meeting with ambassadors of ASEAN member countries in Havana on April 14.

At the meeting, delegates discussed Cuba’s participation inthe Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) in 2020, as well aspotential to expand cooperation in fields of shared concerns.

Diplomats of ASEAN countries, namely Vietnam, Cambodia,Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia and Myanmar, appreciated cooperation and mutualsupport at international forums, and affirmed their backing for multilateralismand protection of principles of international law and the role of the United Nations./.
