Da Nang (VNA) – Considering resumingand promoting tourism as key tasks to help Da Nang revive econom𒉰ic activities,the central city will focus on directing the pandemic prevention and control work aswell as mobilising resources to support the tourism industry to effectivelyimplement a plan for tourism recovery in a new normal state, Tran Phuoc Son, vice chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, has said.
He made the statement at an event organised late inOctober by the municipal Department of Tourism on realising plans to restore DaNang tourism in the normal.
Accordingly, the city focuseson recovering tourism activities in the new situation under the motto "Proactive- adaptive - flexible to effectively restore tourism and ensure the safety oftourists, tourism workers and the community”.
For businesses, they must ensure the conditions of safeadaptation, flexibility, effective control of the COVID-19 pandemic. They arerequired to welcome domestic tourists in two phases, restart tourism activitiesand services in the city from October, and provide services for inter-regionaltourists from November.
The central city will welcome international tourists in line withthe plan and guidance issued by the Government, relevant ministries and agencies.
Dissemination campaigns related to the city’s tourism in the new situation will be strengthenedwith two main messages – “Da Nang Now Open” and “Enjoy Danang”.
A cooperation agreement on boosting digital transformation in tourism promotion in Da Nang betweenDa N⭕ang Tourism Promotion Centre and Daౠ Nang branch of the Vietnam Military Industryand Telecoms Group (Viettel Da Nang) was also signed at the event.
The COVID-19 pandemic has severely affected the city’s tourism industry. Statistics from the Department of Tourism showed that thecity received 1.7 million visitors last year, a drop of 68.6 percent comparedto 2019’s figure.
