Da Nang commends students with high academic results
Central Da Nang city on June 23 presented scholarships to over 200 students who are children of local workers and civil servants to encourage them to overcome disadvantages to obtain better academic results.

Da Nang (VNA) – Central Da Nangcity on June 23 presented scholarships to over 200 students who are children oflocal workers and civil servants to encourage them to overcome disadvantages toobtain better academic results.
The city’s Confederation of Labour grantedscholarships for 77 students with excellent achievements at municipal andnational contests and 135 others who are in need but have good academicperformance.
Vice Chairman of the confederation Tran Vu DuyMan praised the students’ achievements and called on them to continue makingefforts in their study and self-improvement.
He added that to mark the Action Month forChildren in June and 17 years of the Vietnamese Family Day (June 28, 2001),trade unions at all levels in Da Nang have organised many practical activities,including visiting and presenting gifts to children with disadvantages andorphans, and granting scholarships for outstanding students.
This year’s Action Month for Children is themed“For children’s safe and healthy living”. It is set to promote the children’srights to protection, respect and living in a safe and healthy environment inthe digital era.
During the month, the Ministry of Labour, Invalidsand Social Affairs has held a series of events and activities to supportchildren in need. It has organised children’s forums at different levels andentertainment activities, given free medical checkup to children, and providedthose in need with scholarships and deformity correction surgeries.
Meanwhile, the National Fund for VietnameseChildren is set to allocate more than 14 billion VND (616,000 USD) foractivities to support about 5,000 children from difficult backgrounds acrossthe country.
