Hanoi (VNA) – The Party Central Committee’sInspection Commission decided to give a strong warning to Huynh Duc Tho, ViceSecretary of the Da Nang Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’sCommittee at its 18th session in Hanoi on September 29.
Tho,who is also Secretary of the Party delegation to the municipal People’sCommittee, was disciplined for holding responsibility for violations committedby the municipal Party Committee’s Standing Board for the 2015-2020 tenure andthose in land and urban management.
Atthe session, chaired by Politburo member Tran Quoc Vuong, Secretary of theParty Central Committee and head of the commission, officials also looked intotaking disciplinary actions against the Standing Board of the Da Nang municipalParty Committee for the 2015-2020 tenure and Nguyen Xuan Anh, member of theParty Central Committee, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee andChairman of the municipal People’s Council.
In its report released earlier, the Party Central Committee’s InspectionCommission said Nguyen Xuan Anh has been found to “hold the mainresponsibility” for multiple violations by the municipal Party Committee’sStanding Board during the 2015-2020 tenure.
He violated “the principle of democratic centralism” and Party and Stateregulations on personnel work by making arbitrary appointments to citygovernment positions.
Hisactions caused division and affected the solidarity and unity in the Standing Boardof the Party Committee.
Anh’suse of inappropriate certifications and dishonesty in declaration also violatedthe code of ethics for Party members, according to the report.
TheParty Central Committee’s Inspection Commission also condemned him for “notbeing conscious of setting an example” when receiving two cars and two housesas “gifts” from private enterprises, creating public outrage.
At the session, the commission said that these violationsare serious, hurting the prestige of the municipal Party Organisation andauthorities and causing concern among officials, Party members and people.
It asked the Politburo and the Party Central Committee toconsider disciplining the Standing Board of the Da Nang municipal PartyCommittee for the 2015-2020 tenure and Nguyen Xuan Anh within theirjurisdiction.-VNA
