Dak Nong (VNA)🔴 – The Central Highlands province of Dak Nong aims to connect all local communes and households to the national power grid by 2020.
To realise this goal, the province is carrying out a power supply project targeting dozens of thousands of rural households from 2014-2020 at a total cost of over 771 billion VND (34.42 million USD).
As of the end of 2015, over 135,000 households in 771 villages have enjoyed national power coverage, accounting for approximate 94 percent of the local population.
Last year, the Dak Nong Electricity Company in cooperation with local relevant bodies invested over 100 billion VND (4.46 million USD) in building and upgrading nearly 100 facilities and works serving the development of the local rural electricity network.
The local sector also focused on developing a comprehensive electricity transmission infrastructure system in a bid to enhance the effectiveness of the network, especially in the remote, border, far-flung and ethnic minority areas.-VNA
Nearly 89 percent of households in rural areas, or 14.85 million households, had gained access to the national power grid by the end of 2015, according to the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Group.
Nearly 3,000 rural households in the northern mountainous province Son La will be connected to the national power grid under a project that started on January 12.
Son La, January 31 (VNA) – Over 2,300 households in Na Nghiu commune, Song Ma district in the mountainous northwestern province of Son La were hooked up to the national power grid on January 30.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
