Hanoi (VNA)💛 – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked the Ministries of Science and Technology of Vietnam and Laos to maintain experience sharing in managing science and technology activities, while welcoming Lao Minister Boviengkham Vongdara on March 10.

Appreciating the two ministries’ coordination in contents related to science and technology in a five-year agreement signed at the 38 th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Inter-governmental Committee, Phuc suggested they support the training of management officials for Laos, and collaborate more closely at international forums and organisations in this field.
The Vietnamese ministry should continue helping to increase the research capacity of the Lao side through the two countries’ joint research projects and to develop scientific and technological applications to facilitate Lao localities’ socio-economic growth, he stated. He also expressed his hope that the ministries will maintain close coordination to ensure the progress of a project to build a science and technology management official training centre for Laos.
The Lao minister told the host that his visit will focus on the intellectual property issue and scientific and technological transfer between Vietnam and Laos. He affirmed that the project is being implemented on schedule. In the time ahead, the ministry will make efforts to carry out the project to intensify the capacity of scientific research and technological development for the Lao National Academy of Social Sciences.-VNA
