Deputy PM lauds Vietnamese expats’ contributions to homeland

Vietnamese nationals in foreign countries across the world, including those in Romania, have made significant contributions to the socio-economic development in the homeland, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh.

Bucharest (VNA) – Vietnamese nationals in foreign countries across theworld, including those in Romania, have made significant contributions to thesocio-economic development in the homeland, said Deputy Prime Minister andMinister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh.

In a meeting with the Vietnamese Embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamesecommunity in Romania on July 6 as part of his official visit to the SoutheastEuropean country, Minh noticed that Vietnam has enjoyed robust economic growthin the past time while the country’s role and position in the internationalarena have been elevated.

The Vietnamese Party and State always pay due attention to overseas Vietnamesepeople, he said, expressing his hope that the Vietnamese nationals in Romaniawill further efforts to contribute to the development of the host nation whileserving as a bridge to develop the friendship between the two countries.

Vice Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese People in Romania Pham Duy Hungsaid that over 1,000 Vietnamese nationals have stabilised their livelihoodshere, enhanced solidarity, and joined in many activities held by the VietnameseEmbassy.

On the occasion, Deputy PM Minh also applauded the embassy for fulfillingentrusted missions, thus enhancing bilateral ties with the host nation invarious fields, including politics, economy, diplomacy and culture.

Particularly, the embassy has organised various cultural activities as well asVietnamese language classes for Vietnamese expats while promptly carrying outcitizen protection measures, he added.-VNA
