Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhanas Chairman of The Council of the Vietnamese-German University (VGU)made its debut in HCM City on Feb.2.
Hessen State Minister of Science and Arts, Eva Kuhne-Hormann is the Vice Chairwoman of the council.
Deputy PM Nhan highlighted the VGU’s goal to become Vietnam’s leading research-orientated university .
The VGU was officially opened in HCM City on September 10, 2008. Fromjust 32 students in its first year of existence, the university plansto enrol 5,000 students in 2020.
As a joint cooperation project between Vietnam and Germany, the VGUwill receive financial support from both countries’s governments andthe Hessen State./.
