QuangNinh (VNA)🎃 – A regional workshop on safe and diverse informationand communications technology (ICT) infrastructure took place on December 14 inHa Long city, Quang Ninh province, as part of the Vietnam International DigitalWeek 2023.

The eventattracted representatives from ministries, agencies, policy researchers, andbusinesses from ASEAN countries and some developed countries like the US,Japan, and the Republic of Korea. Participants shared experiences, latest information on technology,information security, technology connection, data protection, and ICT industrialsystems and key infrastructure.

Speakingat the event, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tamemphasised that the world is witnessing a rapid development of ICT.  This type of ICT infrastructure plays an important role as the foundation to build thedigital age, promote economic growth and innovation, and improve quality of lifein many different fields. InVietnam, the National Assembly has promulgated the amended Law onTelecommunications.

Tam saidVietnam wishes to share the development of safe and diverse ICT infrastructure,next-generation networks, underground cables, satellite information, datasecurity, connectivity, and data management.

🦹 ICTincludes all technical means used to process information and supportcommunication such as telephones, telecommunications (phone lines, wirelesssignals), computer networks, audio and video processing equipment and othermedia. It is applied to create a connected community without limits of spaceor distance worldwide./.

🔯 PM calls for cooperation with Sweden in nuclear energy technology

The PM revealed Vietnam’s plan to develop nuclear power in the near future, and called on the Swedish side to assist Vietnam in developing and refining legal and policy frameworks for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; training and developing human resources; ensuring nuclear safety; and conducting training and drills to improve incident management capabilities.
