Dong Nai: Workers to get free coach tickets, gifts for Tet

Dong Nai (VNA) – The Federation of Labour in the southern provinceof Dong Nai will present thousands of gifts and train and coach tickets fordisadvantaged workers in the locality so that they can return home to celebratethe Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday with their family.
Some 4,000 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND (21.64 USD) will be given to workerswho have been battered by the COVID-19 pandemic, while 1,500 labourers from thenorthern and central regions will get free train and coach tickets.
Vice President of the province’s Federation of Labour Tang Quoc Lap said due toCOVID-19, many workers in the province faced furloughs, became unemployed, orhad their income slashed.
The labour federations at all levels have worked with employers to outline wageand bonus payment plans for workers, he said, adding they also explained to theworkers why the Government has not adjusted the region-based minimum wage in2021 yet./.
