Hanoi (VNA) - Kim Chang Son, a senior official at the StateAffairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) andleader of DPRK's official delegation, showed up in Singapore on May 29.

China’s Xinhua News Agency reported that he was seen step out ofSingapore's Fullerton hotel and leave in a black Benz car. Other delegationmembers left the hotel in a white minibus.

Officials of the US and DPRK met in Singapore on May 29. The leader ofthe US delegation is Joseph Hagin, a deputy White House chief of staff.

The US and DPRK officials were reportedly to discuss the security andprotocol issues for the potential summit between the US and the DPRK leaders,and make decisions on the arrangements for the summit. 

Earlier, the Republic of Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported that ViceChairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea Kim Yong-cholarrived in Beijing, China, en route to the US where he is expected to meet withUS officials to get prepared for the talks between President Donald Trump andDPRK leader Kim Jong Un.

The US-DPRK summit is scheduled to take place in Singapore on June 12.It is expected to create a breakthrough for the DPRK’s nuclear issue and bringeverlasting peace to the Korean peninsula.-VNA
