Efforts made to complete repairs to My Son towers before rainy season
Experts of Vietnam and the Archaeological Survey of India team have been accelerating the implementation of a project to conserve and repair tower-temples of Group A at the My Son World Cultural Heritage Site in the central province of Quang Nam.

Quang Nam (VNA) – Experts of Vietnam and the Archaeological Survey of India team have beenaccelerating the implementation of a project to conserve and repair tower-templesof Group A at the My Son World Cultural Heritage Site in the central provinceof Quang Nam.
Director of the ManagementBoard of the site Phan Ho said the experts and hundreds of skilled workers aresparing no efforts to complete main conservation tasks for the A1, A12 and A13tower-temples prior to the rainy season.
The area of Group A,comprising 13 monuments, suffered huge damage during wartime and needs urgentrepairs due to harsh influence of nature and time.

Once the religious andpolitical capital of the Champa Kingdom, My Son Sanctuary is located within ahilly landscape in Duy Phu commune, Duy Xuyen district, about 70 km southwestof central Da Nang city and 40 km from Hoi An ancient town.
It is comprised ofeight groups of 71 monuments built from the 7th to 13th centuries.
The sanctuary wasrecognised as a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO in 1999./.
The My Son Sanctuary management board has received five collections of ancient Cham script books – related to old rituals or worship ceremonies of the Cham people in central Vietnam – from a local collector, contributing to precious data for the UNESCO-recognised world heritage site.
