Establishment of Vietnam-Venezuela diplomatic ties marked

Hanoi (VNA) – TheVietnamese Embassy in Venezuela on December 15 held a ceremony to celebrate the31st founding anniversary of diplomatic ties between the twocountries (December 18).
VenezuelanDeputy Minister ofForeign Affairs RubenDario Molina, President of the Venezuela-Vietnam Friendship Association CarolusWimmer, and President of the Venezuela-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce OswaldoHernandez, among others, attended the event.
Inhis remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Le Viet Duyen reviewed the achievementsVietnam has recorded over the past nearly 35 years of reform.
Healso highlighted the fruitful development of the friendship and comprehensivecooperation between Vietnam and Venezuela over the past 15 years, saying thetwo countries have signed more than 50 agreements in different spheres andimplemented 16 cooperation projects in such areas as oil and gas, agricultureand fishery.
TheVietnamese government and people always attach importance to the relationshipwith Venezuela, and support the government and people of Venezuela in thestruggle for national independence, sovereignty and development, he said.
Theambassador noted that the establishment of the Venezuela-Vietnam Friendship Associationand the Venezuela-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce in 2020 will contribute tobringing into full play the strengths and potential of the two countries,particularly in economy and trade, and enhancing the bilateral friendship inthe time ahead.
Notably,Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro’s invitation to Vietnam as the main guestcountry at the 17th International Book Fair of Venezuela (FILVEN) 2021 hasreflected that the two countries share values of peace, progress, humanitarianism,development and prosperity, Duyen said.
Onthis occasion, the ambassador announced the opening of Espacio Vietnam – aspace featuring Vietnam’s products, culture and cuisine in the host country./.
