EVN finishes upgrade of clean energy system on Truong Sa

The Electricity of Vietnam Group announced that it has completed the repair and upgrade of a clean energy system on Truong Sa, thus promptly serving local people and soldiers as Tet is approaching.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Group announcedthat it has completed the repair and upgrade of a clean energy system on TruongSa (Spratly) archipelago, thus promptly serving local people and soldiers asthe lunar New Year (Tet) festival is approaching.

The project is part of acooperation agreement on providing electricity for the archipelago andPlatform DK1 between the EVN and the Naval High Command.

In a document sent to the EVN,the Naval High Command thanked the group’s leaders and employees for theirefforts, affirming that this is a great encouragement for soldiers on duty onthe Truong Sa archipelago.

The EVN began operating a cleanenergy and lighting system on the Truong Sa archipelago and Platform DK1 inJuly 2017.

Together with Truong Sa, the EVNhas to date received and operated power supply systems in 10 out of the 12island districts across Vietnam.

Between now and 2020, the EVNwill focus on completing projects under the programme on supplying electricityfor rural and mountainous areas and islands in 2013-2020, ensuring power supplyto nearly all rural households.-VNA
