Exhibition on Taiwan’s smart technology to take place in HCM City

🍌HCM City,July 19 (VNA) – An exhibition introducing the latest Taiwanese products usingsmart and environmentally-friendly technology will be held at the Saigon Exhibitionand Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City on July 26-28.

TheTaiwan Expo 2018 will be co-organised by the Taiwan External Trade DevelopmentCouncil (TAITRA) and the Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Company(VINEXAD), as heardat a press conference on July 19. The eventaims to promote cooperation between Taiwanese firms and organisations withtheir Vietnamese counterparts, expanding their areas of collaboration. More than5,500 creative products will be on display, said TAITRA Director Felix Chiu. Varioustrade activities are set to take place during the expo, namely the TaiwaneseMedical Day, seminars on “Excellent Smart Life” and “Future Trends of theOrchid Industry”, and performances of Taiwanese culture, among others.

Directorof the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in HCM City Simon Gon noted that in2017, trade between Vietnam and Taiwan (China) hit 13.6 billion USD, a rise of10.81 percent year-on-year, while Taiwan’s total investment in Vietnam was 31billion USD.
