Exhibition spotlights Vietnam-Laos special solidarity
An exhibition highlighting the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos opened on at Kaysone Phomvihane Museum in Vientiane, Laos.
Vientiane(VNA) – An exhibition highlighting the traditional friendship, specialsolidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos opened on atKaysone Phomvihane Museum in Vientiane, Laos, on October 30.
The event, co-organised by the offices of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)Central Committee and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) CentralCommittee, is part of the activities of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship andSolidarity Year 2017 and 72 years of the military alliance betweenthe two countries.
Opening the exhibition,Khampha Phimasone, deputy chief of the LPRP Central Committee’s Office, saidthat more than 400 exhibited photos, documents and items introduce major eventsand partnership between the two Parties and States, as well as outstandingachievements of each country.
Historical turningpoints and important events of Vietnam and Laos during national defence andconstruction are also spotlighted.
The exhibition alsoshows main foundations for the development of the special ties and fightingalliance between Vietnam and Laos, along with the role of Presidents Ho ChiMinh, Kaysone Phomvihane and Souphanouvong as well as leaders of the two partiesand generations of Vietnamese and Lao people in growth of the ties.
Khampha Phimasone saidthat the event is a chance for people of the two countries to get deeperunderstanding on the special relations between the two countries, thus workingtogether to nurture and develop the ties.
The exhibition stays open until the end of thisyear.-VNA

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
Vietnam continues to sit just behind continental powerhouses Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
