Singapore (VNA) – OverseasVietnamese in Singapore organised a cultural fair titled “Vietnam Lah! 2019” inthe city-state on September 14, drawing the participation of more than 1,000people.
The fair, held on the occasion of the 74thNational Day of Vietnam and the mid-Autumn festival, aims to introduceVietnamese culture to international friends and Singaporean people inparticular.
Visitors to the event can experiencediverse cultural traits with various folk games and specialties of all regionsof Vietnam.
President of the Vietnamese StudentsAssociation in Singapore Mai Tuan Minh said the fair is hoped to connect theVietnamese community and promote the country’s images in Singapore.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Tri Khue Phuc, who haslived and worked in Singapore for 17 years, said the event has helped herchildren understand more about Vietnamese culture and reach out to other OVs inSingapore./.
The number of Oversea Vietnamese (OV) returning home to invest and run business have risen amidst the increasing international integration of Vietnam, contributing to the national development, stated Luong Thanh Nghi, deputy head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs.
